What is it and for what type of complaint?
Aromatherapy is a branch of herbal medicine and is a centuries-old practice. There have been records of its use for more than 6000 years in all ancient civilizations. Aromatherapy uses Nature and its products as a cornerstone in its disease prevention and treatment therapy.
Plants care for us gently and with respect for our bodies and natural rhythms. The treatment is based on the manipulation and use of the essences of flowers, herbs, fruits, roots, plants, barks and corks. Through the medicinal properties (bactericidal, anesthetic, antiseptic, larvicidal, healing, antifungal, antiviral, etc.) of essential oils, the practice aims to promote health [physical, mental, emotional and spiritual], hygiene and well-being. Once the scents of essential oils are inhaled, or applied topically, our limbic system (the center of emotions in our brain) interprets the aroma and produces effects on our physiology and mood.
Everyone can benefit from aromatherapy. It is often used to treat stress, anxiety, gastric discomfort, anxiety, depression, dizziness, irritability, headache, decreased libido, breathing problems, among others.
Duration: each session lasts around 60 minutes, depending on whether or not there is another conjugate therapy.
Procedure: Aromatherapy is a multidisciplinary approach. The knowledge is widely applied in cosmetology. In order to enhance the results of the applied treatment, it is usually associated with other therapeutic practices (massage therapy, flower therapy, reflexology, chromotherapy, etc.)
